We have been working closely with the local Indigenous community who have been providing vital ideas and feedback about how we can make the new Shellharbour Hospital culturally sensitive and welcoming for everyone.
In late 2021, we held a Connecting with Country workshop and 'Design Jam' with over 50 local Indigenous community members. It provided an opportunity for people to share stories about the site at Dunmore Road and exchange ideas for the new hospital.
In June 2022 we presented the outcomes of the first workshop to the same group of people, showing how their ideas have been incorporated into the plans for the hospital.
We will continue to work closely with the Indigenous community as the project progresses.
